The OTT platform recently has caught a major pace and choice as far as the likeness of the audience is concerned and the success outcome is analysed . The more and more audience is shifting and preferring OTT platforms and web projects being inside their homes especially when theatres are non operational . Moreover, the lockdown has boosted the reach of OTT as the response from the audience during this time towards the web projects was unimaginably positive. The punjabi industry has also put its hands to join this breakthrough as a lot of big web series projects were released recently and are still about to knock this door in coming days.
As the theatres are facing shut off from the last several months due to the lock down , Therefore hardly any Punjabi movie has been released since then except kudiyan Jawan bapu pareshan which too was streamed on YouTube after its release. Looking at this scenario, the directors have become more conscious about the OTT projects and are planning to prepare this type of feast for the audience as per Their convenience. One of the same is also planned by the filmmaker Smeep Kang who is very well known for his comedy movies .
The director is planning to release his first ever web series which is titled as ‘ ki Banu Punia Da ‘ in September.

The web series will cast Babbal Rai , Jaswinder Bhalla , Arsh Kahlon , Dilawar Sidhu, Sairakshita, etc in lead roles . The director recently updated via a comment reply to one of his followers via his social media platforms that the web series is expected to release in the third week of September and will be available on his official YouTube channel. Till now, it is the only project about which the release buzz is noising . Wait is for the day, when the release date of more and more such types of projects will be announced or the theatres are nodded to be open. Till then let’s wait and watch what is served to us at the earliest.
